Continuous CRP: Eligibility, Payments and Incentives

The Continuous CRP program allows landowners to establish certain conservation buffer practices on cropland and marginal pasture and enroll the land in the CRP at any time without having to go through the process of submitting a competitive offer.

Working with the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Arkansas Forestry Commission or conservation district, landowners identify the mix of buffer practices available under the continuous CRP sign-up that are most suitable for their land and meet their conservation needs. Incentives for each Conservation Practice (CP) are summarized below. Six types of incentives are possible.

  • Rental payments. Rental rates vary based on site specific characteristics. Estimate your rental payments.
  • Incentive payment.
  • Cost Share payment. CRP pays a portion of the cost of installing practices.
  • Sign Up Incentive Payment (SIP): one time payment of $100/acre for 10-15 year contract
  • Practice Incentive Payments (PIP): an additional 40% of establishment cost
  • Maintenance Payment:  A $4-$9 per acre maintenance payment added to per acre rental payment
